Payments & Insurance
Priscilla accepts cash, checks, and major credit cards for in-office sessions. Teletherapy payments are processed securely through her video platform via Stripe.
Insurance & Private Pay Options
Priscilla is in-network with Aetna, United Healthcare, Oxford, Optum, and Northwell Health for individual therapy sessions. Clients with these insurance providers may use their benefits for covered services. For those with other insurance plans, superbills can be provided to submit for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

For couples therapy, Priscilla remains private pay only. Insurance companies typically do not reimburse for couples therapy directly. If seeking reimbursement through out-of-network benefits, it is important to note that a diagnosis for one partner is required, and the therapy is considered treatment for that individual, with the partner participating in a supportive role.
Insurance & Private Pay Options
Clients who choose to pay out-of-pocket may benefit from several advantages. Private pay allows for increased confidentiality, as therapy sessions and diagnoses are not documented with insurance companies. This can be particularly important for professionals concerned about privacy. Additionally, private pay offers greater flexibility in session length, treatment duration, and personalized care without restrictions imposed by insurance providers.

While Priscilla accepts certain insurance plans for individual therapy, she prioritizes a collaborative approach in determining treatment needs, rather than having care dictated by insurance requirements. Clients are encouraged to contact their health insurance provider to verify benefits before beginning therapy.
Using your health insurance out-of-network benefits if you have them:
In Couples Therapy, insurance companies typically do not reimburse for it directly. Instead, the 90847 code is used, which requires that one person identified as the “patient” must have a diagnosis that meets the criteria for medical necessity. The partner is not the client but participates in support of the patient's treatment. If you plan on using your out-of-network benefits, it's important to understand this distinction and how it affects the ownership of the client record.
I value confidentiality and believe that the therapy process should be guided by you, not your insurance company. Therefore, I do not participate directly in any managed care plans. I think that the necessity of therapy should be determined collaboratively between you and me based on your personal progress and needs. Contacting your health insurance company before beginning therapy with questions about your benefits is always a good idea.

Am I the right client for you?
Having a good therapeutic relationship is crucial in our work; not every therapist is the right fit for a client, and vice versa. For this reason, Priscilla suggests meeting for an initial consultation. This is where you can get to know her and decide if she's a good fit for you. Then, you'll work together to build a relationship that honors your values and brings joy to your life.

What should I expect in our sessions together?
Sessions are tailored to fit the needs and goals of the client. Every single person deserves safety, security, and a space where there is no judgment and a person can be understood for who they are. Priscilla effortlessly creates this environment for her clients through her compassionate and non-judgmental approach.
Goals are explored in the first sessions to determine the best therapeutic plan for each client.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
Yes. Like most businesses these days, Priscilla requires 48-hour notice if you wish to cancel an appointment or late-cancel/no-show fees will be issued equal to the cost per session.
